Swap Weekend begins..
Well, Mr weatherman says:

Forecast for Today
Partly sunny through mid morning. Then becoming mostly cloudy with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs 70 to 75. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Becoming onshore near the great lakes this afternoon. Chance of rain 40 percent.

At least I won't freeze my ass off if I'm riding anywheres today. Going to take the bike to Home Depot this morning (just killed an ant crawling on the wall) and get the chalk shit to mark the vendor spots in the buildings for our swap meet this weekend.

I rode to work Thursday, nice day if you didn't mind the 40mph winds whipping across the windshield. The winds subsided later that day, made for a nice ride to Tom's to get Patti's camera. I'm going riding this morning for the errands though, should be a good thing.

Gotta upload the images he put on the camera, shots of a bike he made, I guess...

Van gets new brakes
It's never fucking cheap. Almost $400.00 later, I drive out of Monroe Muffler and Brakes with new front rotors, and all the service on the other mechanical parts to the brakes. Turns out the FRONT rotors were shot.. Oh well, I was grateful I could afford it, and I put the balance back on the credit card from Firestone.

Next, is to tackle to Pop sound in the right front strut.

Brakes for the Van this morning
I'm taking the "great white" in to get it's brakes repaired, or should I say the rotors repaired, as one of them (the back driver side) is out of round. Hope it doesn't mean something HUGE is wrong with it.. More later on that.

Bone chilling ride home
I've never been so cold in all my life. I had a great day riding with two fellow chapter members as we spent the day on the Cyberspokes Food Bank Run, it was a day of sunshine, cool temperatures, but still ok for riding. The run was a short 16 mile jaunt, and we ended up in Elma, NY at a local tavern where food, drink and music were aplenty. It was 3pm when the last of the riders pulled in, and we hung out talking and all that other biker stuff.

On about 4:30pm, I decided it was time to head for home. I suited up, and began the trek towards home. About 2 miles from the bar, I noticed it had gotten considerably cooler since we rode, and by the time I got to the 391/219 split I was ready to stop for a break, a mere 5 miles from the bar! My hands were cold, and my face stung from the biting winds. The sun was still shining, but the cross-winds were cold and like a knife through my leather armor.

Being so cold, I decided there was no way in hell I was going to last if I were to ride the 219 all the way home, so I decided to take an alternate route. I knew 277 was not far from my current location, and that 277 runs north to 240, which is a nice ride into main street, so I headed out for that way instead of taking the 219.

Two fucking hours later, I pulled into the driveway at home. Bone-frozen, in pain, and miserable from the long, cold ride alone, I promptly exited the bike, and began peeling of the crispy leathers to get inside and get warm. I was so cold, it seemed to sap me of the strength to do anything. I immediately warmed my bones in the shower, which I stood for about an hour to get the heat back into my frozen body. A headache ensued, and I was in bed by 9:00pm.

Well, better that than getting soaking wet, let me tell you.

Riding season is coming, just not quite yet.
