Hawkwynd.com Weather Forecast
TODAY PARTLY SUNNY WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY. SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL. HIGHS AROUND 80. SOUTHWEST WINDS 10 TO 15 MPH. CHANCE OF RAIN 60 PERCENT.
TONIGHT MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAINFALL LIKELY. LOWS IN THE UPPER 50S. SOUTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 20 MPH. CHANCE OF RAIN 70 PERCENT. 72F with Haze @ 8:39am. Oh well, let's hope Sunday is a nicer day, for the trip to Albany.

Looks like I'm driving the van to work this morning. As a rule, I ride only when the percentage of rain is 40 percent or lower, so I guess I'm not riding to work today - Damn! And it's so nice this morning too!

1:30 am Wracking pain! Lower abdomen pain that rolls on into a pain that makes me buckle over and almost cry! I sat on the throne for about 30 mins until I passed what felt like giving birth to Orca the killer whale! So far, I've got some relief, no more pain. Strange thing I hear outside tonight is a bird, singing at this hour of the night. Songs like a robin, but more like a chipping sparrow. In the dark, cheerfully singing it's song like it was the middle of the day. The strangest thing indeed! Normally, there's nothing outside at night but the bugs, and some bumps in the night, but tonight, not far off in the night, sounds like it's coming from my neigbor's barn is the song of a sparrow, clear and crisp. No other birds answering, but I can imagine the other birds thinking "Will someone tell that fucker to shut his friggin' beak, we're trying to get some sleep here!"

Oh well, perhaps it's some new night-bird that migrated to our area. I wonder.. Maybe I'll do some research on the net..

My sunburns are keeping me restless, and they're starting to friggin' itch, which makes me restless, and irritable. Good dinner tonight, but I think pork chops, followed by ice cream are not a good match, and can cause binding in the bowels. Ouch that sucked.

Good night, back to beddie for me.

This sucks
There really needs to be a law written that the first really nice day of the year should be a day off for the entire area. All businesses would close so the world could go outside and play, for one entire day. We could all choose where to go, and if need, what to do. Lots of people would love this, and the world would be a happier place to be as a result.

Well, here I sit, in my cube for a full eight hours, talking to resellers who are too lazy or stupid to find the solutions thier customers need.

Travel back with me now to the days of yesterday, where we find our hero on the phone with a typical reseller who, unbeknownst to you, has the IQ of an armchair, with no command of the English Language...

Idiot: "Hello, I would like a part number for a drive."
Me: "Drive? What type of drive?"
Idiot: "er.. uh.. He didn't say.."
Me: "Did your customer tell you why or what he needs the drive for?"
Idiot: "No, he just said, 'get me a drive.'"
Me: "Can I talk to your customer? I need some questions answered before I can give you part numbers for this 'drive'."
Idiot: "Uh, how do I do that? I don't know how to do a conference call."
Me: "Now you want me to give you tech support on how to work your phone? I'm already doing your job for you by agreeing to talk to your customer and get the correct solution for him, but you can't even get him on the phone for me to talk to him? Throw me a bone here, shit-head, and give me the phone number of your customer. That way, I'll call him, and get the sale too!"
Idiot: "Hey.. You can't talk to me that way..."
Me: "Shut De Fuck UP! I'll Keel you!!"
(more soon)

I heard it said at a meeting once with some friends of Bill W. that the more you think you're getting better, the closer you are to the edge of the sword. I would tend to agree, as I am becoming more aware of my own mortality, I realize that I am approaching it at a rate akin to that of falling from a plane without a parachute.

I need to quit smoking. My doctor says I have to lose 15 pounds, and drop the colesterol. I already quit drinking, so there's one good thing down. Hope it stays down too, as this sober life can suck sometimes, like right now.

All in all, I think I need to learn moderation, and learn how to let the small things in life go. Not to dwell so much on shit, and trust more in others. Kevin, for instance, would probably make a good sponsor, but I see things in him that are out of character for me. He talks too close to my face, and sometimes his spittle comes dangerously close to my face, and I simply hate people spitting on me.

I'll take the plunge tomorrow and ask if he's willing to sponsor me. Maybe I'll call. Fuck, there's a wasp in my room, flicking about the lamp. Should I kill it?

Decided not to kill it unless he comes closer, as it looks like he's struggling to live now anyway, flopping about on his back on a shelf, I'll let him live out his existance, and dispose of the carcass when he's dead. Oh shit, he's flying again.. Where's the fucking swatter..

Woah.. The first really nice day
Forecast for Today
Partly sunny and warm. A 40 percent chance of a shower or afternoon thunderstorm. Highs around 80. Light and variable winds becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph.

The weatherman nailed this one. Absolutely awesome weather - wasn't feeling well enough to go to work today, got a sunburn sleeping in the yard instead, which is going to be difficult to explain to my boss when I return to work tomorrow. He knows I ride, and will probably assume I blew the day of to do just that.

It's another groovy Tuesday...
I'm here at work now, after a nice ride to my morning meeting, a quick jaunt home, and then I freshened up for the ride to work. What a nice morning! Shit - too bad I'm sitting here in my cube now, instead of zipping south on route 240 into the magestic hills of the south towns! What a perfect day for riding!

I propose we have a "nice day" holiday. One that if the sun is shining, and the temperatures go above 65 degrees, and the winds are below 10mph, and it's the first time this year that this all has happened, it should automatically be declared a "Day of Rest" or play, as it were. All the banks, schools, and businesses should close, and all the employees go home to load up thier vehicles and head out for a full holiday. Parks would be crammed with picinic goers, and the roads filled with travellers heading for thier favorite hiding spots. I would fill the gas tank and ride to points not yet known, and find myself atop a mountain looking out over the world, knowing I am far, far from home.

But that's not what's happening now as I put my earpiece on, log in to my telephone, and prepare to spend my day talking to idiots all day who are completely clueless to the very technology that they're trying to sell to some poor bastard who is twice as clueless as they are about using this product, whatever it may be.

I just hope my better 1/2 is up for a ride when I get out of this place tonight, as I will want to roll as soon as I log out at 6:30pm tonight.

Looks like the day will behave enough to be able to take the bike to work!

I went for a blast last night into Niagara Co. and did some good riding, stopped at the grocery store, and filled the bags with goodies, and meats, and then blasted out again to wind the roads along Tonawanda Creek Road.

The problem with riding to work is that one of these days, I'm not going to pull into the parking lot at work, instead I may find myself pulling into the parking lot at some remote park in nowheresville. But I do have an obligation to my job, and I promised I'd be honest enough to show up each day, on time, so I will be there and ready to work, even though I don't like it much, considering the long drawn out winter we've had.

Webcam Update
Well, I decided it was time to put a face to the madness, so I installed my dusty old hawking camera, and it's up and running. Seemlessly integrated into the process, the camera will upload every 15 seconds to the server, so people can see me sitting at my desk with that stupid look on my face while I write code and other fun things..

Just gotta remember to turn it off when I am not looking my best..
